Prison demonstration prompts lockdown

BUCKEYE – At slightest 3 people suffered injuries during a demonstration during a jail located west of Phoenix.

According to Bill Lamoreaux, Media Relations Administrator for a Arizona Department of Corrections, a occurrence began during approximately 4:15 p.m. Thursday in a Stiner section during Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis in Buckeye.

News 4 Tucson has been given opposing information from puncture responders on stage and a Department of Corrections.

According to Buckeye Fire Department, 3 helicopters were en-route to a trickery for 3 patients who suffered gash wounds. All 3 are in vicious condition, according to a glow department.

A sum of 6 patients with presumably teenager or assuage injuries were being taken by ambulance to area hospitals, a glow dialect added.

It was some-more than a quarrel than a riot, Lamoreaux said. “It concerned reduction than approximately 100 inmates, though some-more than 50,” Lamoreaux said.

Lamoreaux claims that usually 3 inmates suffered injuries, all of that are non-life threatening. No staff members were injured, Lamoreaux added.

The Stiner section houses approximately 1,200 middle confidence inmates, according to a prison’s website, that was updated yesterday.

Both a section and a jail are on lockdown, Lamoreaux said. The section will sojourn sealed down for a weekend and presumably partial of subsequent week.
